Does anybody know of any good sites where I could get a large number of Bleach scanlations or raw manga scans? Preferrably high-quality but I'll go for anything at this point. [12 Nov 2004|10:52pm] [ mood | discontent ] What's this I see? Could it be? An update?? So yeah the only thing I have to say for myself is I figured out how to do grunge effects! YES! Though I might have overdone it. I'm emulating a bunch of styles from a bunch of different designers (most notably thedeadparrot *worship*), but I don't do any of them justice for all the influencing they did. Woe. Using a lot of brushes this time around. And layers. I think the "long live the king" one had about 17. Nabbed some textures from parrotdroppings and teh_indy (props, ladies) and a whole slew of others from 100x100_icons (DeliciousMelody and juuichi most frequently, or so my brush files tell me). I know, I know! Less talk, more icons, bitch! Alas. Onward, upward, etc. Overall... meeehhhh. 2x Bleach 2x Blur (note: greatest band ever) 2x Death Note 8x Fullmetal Alchemist 4x Misc. (1 start of Zacharias songset, one HP femmeslash, two.. uh.) ( When the music comes around, everybody goes to town ) Oh, and before I forget, the lyrics on the "Here by my side you are destruction" and "never turn your back" are from the amazingly great Matt Good Band song, "Weapon". I made a bunch with text but they all looked horrible so I pushed them to one side (ie closer to the recycle bin) and never spoke of them again. The Great Fai Update [24 Jul 2004|06:50pm] [ mood | awake ] So after landing my hands on some choice scanlations of Tsubasa: Resevoir Chronicle, I publically announced (to my backyard and vaguely tipsy best friend) my complete and undying love for Fai D. Flowright (as he has been dubbed), and continued on to make poignant observations on his unwavering gayness. So, in short, Fai = love = icons, which I give you here. They're not all of Fai, no. There's one or two odd characters thrown in every once and a while. I think Syaoran even gets his own icon! :O A lot of them are also done in a very similar style, which is really really blurry, really colorful, or both (simultaneously); both of which I think are sort of traits our favorite stick-insect/wizard posesses potently. 29x Fai Fai Fai! I am becoming less enthoused by it, as my friends and fellow iconmakers are constantly surpassing me with their talents. I'd like to take this opportunity to shamelessly plug 3am_icons, where spectacular posts her creations, and ooze into a little puddle of jealousy at her sheer volume of talent. Bitch. ♥ Anyway, I guess nobody likes an angsty icon-maker, so I'll shut up. In this update are a few random icons. Most of them are HP. Three (two frames and an animated whole) are inspired my the last scene of Christopher Marlowe's "Doctor Faustus". Uh. Grungy icons, and lots of them, and a few plain crops. I tried to mimic some of the styles seen on journals such as ic_0n and iconz_kthx, because midzilla and mother are my graphic-design heroes. :O For the most part, they turned out... OK. [30 Apr 2004|05:25pm] [ mood | artistic ] Juxtaposed between sunning myself and fulfilling my position as subservient daughter figure, I had brief interludes of free time wherein I stalked down Bleach manga scans and proceeded to make icons. I have to say, my favorite thing about graphics programs is the fact that you can just sit down and play, and often get interesting results. These are a result of that sort of play.
